How Long Do Carpets Take to Dry After Cleaning?
For effective cleaning, a powerful extraction action is needed to lift dirt and excess moisture. You can be assured that Rug Doctor has up to twice the power of other available carpet cleaning machines and is designed to deep-clean and extract in one cleaning pass.
Drying time is usually around two hours, dependent on weather and carpet thickness. When drying, open windows and doors or turn on air conditioning. In the colder months of the year drying time will take longer, however a dehumidifier or fan heater will help to achieve a faster drying time.
When cleaning, it is important to avoid over-wetting your carpet. Do not walk too slowly with the machine, take 1 step per second while walking backwards. Don't go over heavily soiled areas more than 2 times. If additional cleaning is desired, allow carpets to dry before attempting to re-clean these areas or alternatively use the hand tool attachment to clean stubborn stains.
If replacing furniture before your carpet is completely dry, place plastic or aluminium foil under furniture legs.
